Event 'Elanthia in Love' Concert
Point of View Character Unknown

(Allye slips from the wings as the spotlight reappears on one corner of the stage, illuminating a single three-legged stool.)

Allye smiles and strides across the dimmed stage, the skirts of her gown trailing along the floorboards behind her as she approaches the corner.

(Allye hefts a harp of Ilithian cedar in her arms, carrying it with great care. She finally cradles it upon her lap as she takes her seat.)

(Allye lifts her hands to her instrument, taking a slow and deep breath. Her fingers begin to move over the strings, and a wave of notes cascades into a soft, plaintive tune.)

Allye quietly sings in a soprano voice:

"Before you I was lost at sea
   Tossed by doubt, uncertainty,
   Towering tidals pummeled me
   Into the silt and surf."

Allye quietly sings in a soprano voice:

  "Once driven ever deeper down
It seemed at last I'd surely drown
   Tangled in my sodden gown
   By briny grip constrained."

(Allye leans forward in her seat, the music flowing smoothly as her song presses onward. Unlike the bright white spotlight trained on the performer, the stage and seating area remain cloaked in inky darkness.)

Allye earnestly sings in a soprano voice:

"You calmed the violent tempest's quake,
A single touch could somehow break
The storm that trapped me in its wake,
   And set me free adrift."

Allye smiles and closes her eyes, the melody swelling and falling away as it bridges verse to verse. The darkened theater echoes with the song's delicate refrain.

Allye tranquilly sings in a soprano voice:

  "Now placid waters cradle me
As cool as dusk, as soft as sleep,
To starry skies I breathe a plea
For you and all you are."

Allye ardently sings in a soprano voice:

"With you I'll float to any place
Our soothing sway of gentle waves,
They'll carry me in your embrace
   Along this sea of dreams."

(Allye's bodice reflects the bright spotlight as she continues, the diamond beading of the garment scattering light in mesmerizing, scintillating arrays across the shadowy stage.)

Allye dreamily sings in a soprano voice:

"So drift with me into the night,
Together all will come to right,
   Awash in dawn's auroral light,
   You'll wake within my arms."

(Allye allows the final notes of the song to hang in the air for a moment before calming the strings of her instrument with her splayed palms. With a soft smile, she climbs to her feet.)

Allye sinks into a deep curtsy.

(Allye gives a flash of a smile and a small wink, turning on her heel and absconding back into the wings as the stage lights slowly come up once more, revealing Tiarmo.)
